Dear Green Space (2020- 2022)

Like literally everyone else on the planet the Covid-19 pandemic had a profound impact on the way I live my life. Periods of isolation, lockdown, and other restrictions meant that I found myself craving time outdoors, and the overgrown, dark, shared garden of my tenement flat did little to satisfy those cravings.

As summer arrived, and meetings started to happen outdoors, I noticed the importance that Edinburgh’s green spaces took on for both myself, my partner, and my friends. Places we rarely visited, or even noticed, became destinations, and oases in a time of cabin fever. These images were shot in response to the new way in which I have come to view my city, and its green spaces which I had taken for granted.

Meadowbank. (2018)

One last look at Meadowbank Stadium before its scheduled demolition in Summer 2018. Opened in 1970, Meadowbank Stadium was once the jewel in the crown of Scottish sports. Host to two Commonwealth Games, and a hub for sports in North Edinburgh, the centre was a much loved asset for the communities of Edinburgh. This project seeks to capture the centre in a way which both invites the viewer to remember the venue, as well as examine its physical and aesthetic decline.
