About

In 2014, I graduated with honours from Edinburgh Napier’s Photography and Film course. In December of that year I joined NHS Lothian as a Medical of Photographer, and began studying a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Photography. I worked with the NHS for just over a year, as my post was a maternity cover contract, and despite the opportunity to stay on, I opted to move on, instead seeking freelance work.

I dotted about for the next few years in various part time jobs, picking up photography jobs as and when they arose. In this time I was lucky to work with a range of fantastic clients, cutting my teeth in a wider range of environments and situations that I could have imagined as a student!

In 2018 I formed Cameron Allan Photography Limited, which gave me renewed focus on not just taking photos, but building a business on which I could depend for income. I’m a detail orientated photographer, and over the years I’ve learned a huge amount from some of the best in the business, having worked in close proximity to some truly brilliant snappers.

I’m now working on more and more commercial jobs, with particular enjoyment coming from food and drink work. Events are another aspect of my work that I continue to enjoy, and look forward to doing more in the coming years!
