The First To Wear The Green
As Hibernian FC began their 150th anniversary season, they launched a commemorative โhoopedโ jersey. The design was a nod to Hibsโ second ever kit, and the first time the team ever wore green. Whilst horizontal hoops are now more commonly associated with Celtic, Hibs remain proud of their roots, and this kit answered a call amongst fans which has been building in volume.
To give the shirt the status it deserved, it was modelled by Joelle Murray, Hibernianโs most decorated ever player, and a piece of living history within the club. The shoot itself was conducted in two parts, firstly at Edinburgh Castle, and then in a studio constructed at Easter Road Stadium. The marketing plan was to tease the still controversial plan, and generate a buzz amongst fans, without confirming or denying any rumours. To maintain the secrecy, the shoot at the Castle happened at more or less first light, before the gates opened to the public, and multiple precautions were taken to avoid the kit being seen by prying eyes!
